The ZAP Crew started as a family affair. When Uyen and Dean married it joined together families from Sweden and Australia. It also brought together a wealth of knowledge across medicine, mental health, personal training, education and research.

Founder: Uyen Wheeldon, MD, PhD

Dr. Uyen Wheeldon is a physician with experience planning and conducting a major research project as well as smaller studies, collecting, interpreting, evaluating, and translating research findings for practical use. She has also taught and created structures for lifelong learning within the medical field.

She brings these skills and experience to bear here at ZAP. Dr. Wheeldon views child health from a global perspective and understands the importance of collaborations across cultural and national boundaries, having worked internationally in Vietnam and India in addition to her home country of Sweden. She is fluent in Swedish, English, French, and Vietnamese. She has experience with children with ASD, ADHD, depression, anxiety and OCD.

Dean Wheeldon

Dean has a wealth of over 30 years of business experience across consulting, compliance, risk management, technology development, and team building. After obtainng his degree and starting his career in Australia, he spent a number of years working in Vietnam, the UK and India and now resides with his wife and two teenage children in Sweden.

As an avid endurance athlete who has mountaineering, rock and ice climbing experience on 5 continents, he knows the importance of fitness, wellbeing, and nutrition for maintaining top mental and physical health. He lost 25kg over 10 years and now maintains a healthy BMI of 23.

Medical Advisor: Doan Risberg, MD

Dr. Doan Risberg has a lifelong interest in preventive healthcare and mental health with a focus on children and adolescents. She has hands-on experience with patient care, transforming technical knowledge into practical health outcomes. Her unique skill set, with education and experience in both medicine and therapy, is especially relevant to producing positive outcomes in physical activity, mental wellbeing, sleep, and nutrition for children. She speaks Swedish, English, Vietnamese, and French. Doan is a parent of two teenagers, who deeply cares for children.

Professional Experience

  • Prehospital senior consultant at SOS-Alarm and Swedish healthcare helpline 1177 (2015 – present date);
  • Responsible doctor for students’ health at high schools in Stockholm, including a focus on preventive health care against mental health problems among high school students (2015 – 2019);
  • ”4D Diabetes Primary care”; project aiming at improving compliance and results of diabetic care in the primary care setting through development of processes and evaluation tools (2013 – 2015);
  • Initiated, planned and developed a vaccination clinic within a GP clinic in Stockholm (2012 – 2015);

Physical Activity Advisor: Marc Wheeldon

Marc has a lifelong commitment to and great success in sports and health, including nutrition and exercise physiology. He was a successful elite athlete across many sports since before the age of 10.

As a trained physical education teacher, he has knowledge of the pedagogical techniques and how to get kids moving. A scholar of exercise physiology, he has put his lifelong learning into: helping his clients, toward his own sports success, and most importantly,  the development of his 3 children. He now runs a gym providing customized training plans for clients.
